Gladys Bourdon a invité le public au Syndicat Potentiel à Strasbourg à une conversation, « Mondes (in)visibles », avec l’astronome Sébastien Derriere, sous un dôme géodésique.

The visual artist Gladys Bourdon invited the public at the Syndicat Potentiel in Strasbourg to a conversation, “(In)visible Worlds”, with the astronomer Sébastien Derriere, under a geodesic dome.

Cette demi-bulle, à la fois ouverte et fermée ; tout comme dans ses dessins, donnait un cadre mais sans limites.

Au travers des références qui nourrissent son travail, Gladys Bourdon a été amenée à questionner son attachement à jouer avec le visible et l’invisible, mais aussi ses sensibilités et ce qui l’anime dans son processus de création. Sébastien Derriere, astronome à l’Observatoire de Strasbourg, a présenté un atlas du ciel développé par le Centre de données astronomiques de Strasbourg, l’outil logiciel Aladin. La science s’intéresse à révéler des dimensions au-delà du visible par le biais de technologies de plus en plus avancées, et grâce à l’art, les artistes s’approprient des questionnements relatifs à leur perception du réel afin de tenter de mieux comprendre et peut-être mieux habiter notre monde.

Le dôme géodésique est une réalisation du designer Matthieu Phlippoteau. Cette conférence a eu lieu lors du finissage de l’exposition Culture bulle de Gladys Bourdon au Syndicat Potentiel à Strasbourg en 2022. Le Syndicat Potentiel a parrainé et accompagné Gladys Bourdon dans le cadre d'une aide à l'émergence soutenue par la région Grand Est.

Through the references that nourish her work, Gladys Bourdon was led to question her attachment to playing with the visible and the invisible, but also her sensibilities and what drives her in her creative process. Sébastien Derriere, astronomer at the Strasbourg Observatory, presented an atlas of the sky developed by the Strasbourg Astronomical Data Center, the Aladin software tool. Science is interested in revealing dimensions beyond the visible through increasingly advanced technologies, and through art, artists appropriate questions relating to their perception of reality in an attempt to better understand and perhaps better inhabit our world.

The geodesic dome is a creation of the designer Matthieu Phlippoteau. This conference took place at the finissage of the exhibition Bubble Culture by Gladys Bourdon at the Syndicat Potentiel in Strasbourg in 2022. The Syndicat Potentiel has sponsored and accompanied Gladys Bourdon in the framework of an emergence aid supported by the Grand Est region.
